Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the hotel.

All staff were brilliant, always helpful and friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The manager made a point of trying to have a brief chat with everybody every day.

No Hi-fi in the rooms was a bit of a drawback. It was available in the reception area though...

Exceptional

Beautiful clean hotel, stunning sea views and a very comfortable room.

Restaurant staff need to be more proactive and helpful. In hindsight the only thing that retracted from our room was a lack of a luxury bath with only a shower available. Booked the top priced room and confirmed there was no better available.

Unpleasant,disruptfull and dirty!

The location is fine but the room needs attention. For example the walls of the room can be painted, the bathroom is ugly and the shower curtain has a smell, it sets no feeling of holiday. The curtains needs to be dry cleaned. The coffee mugs is old, and has marks all over the cup inside and out. They need new cups. We had no privacy in our room as all the staff members and workers that past my rooms window wanted to chat, I could not even rest in peace or open my window when it was hot as they stopped and looked in the whole time. The room can also do with a fridge, and the T.V can be upgraded with a remote. The hotel can also do with a vending machine.

Lovely quaint beachside hotel

Lovely seaside view from the bedrooms. Great access to the beach! Nice spacious bedrooms and very helpful friendly staff.

The breakfast and dinner buffets were way too expensive so we had to eat elsewhere.

Rooms are old and dirty. Bar had limited options. TV remotes didnt work. Exposed electrical wires. Roof Leakes out of the lights. Clearly has no ongoing maintenance; there was mould on the bathroom walls. Really not in good shape

Adequate accommodation, pleasant staff, but avoid eating there. The hotel has seen better days.

Cutty Sark has a faded air. Rooms clean and comfortable but need refurbishment. Staff pleasant and friendly. The view from the room was great.

The big problem is the catering. The kitchen is disorganised and the food poor. The breakfast is expensive and inadequate. We were verbally given a list of cereals available which we asked for with yoghurt. The cereal came in a miniscule bowl filled to the top, accompanied by another similar bowl filled with yoghurt. It was impossible to mix the two without making a mess. As for the cooked breakfast, the scrambled egg was horrible, watery and tasteless. Quite the worst I have had for a very long time. We elected not to have breakfast on the next day, and found a cafe which did a good cooked breakfast for one-third of the price. We did not eat evening meals there.

The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the position! Staff is friendly & helpful. The place is rundown with old and ugly furniture and fittings, dark and ugly passages leading to the rooms.

Well located, friendly staff, terrible food and outdated facilities.

We thought they had a restaurant but only burgers were available - the worst we have ever eaten - so we passed on breakfast which was not included in the rate

See above - the hotel obviously needs investment - for example there is no AC, although the ceiling fan was good. Also WiFi was poor.

Passable.

The sea vew .

The room Bath with shower over head. No air conditione, fan rotating wrong way. Lucky I knew & changed the switch on Downward action for summer & change to upward motion for Winter. ( Simple things, Train Staff , would help. ) Room are done lick & promise sort of housework style. Cold water tap came right off handle when I turned it on & the hot water tap , well the whole tap seemed to move as you turned it, not just the top turn part of the tap. When I came back after late dinner the night porter who was around, could not find my room key, eariler on when I left, the lady who was on duty had said reception closed at 8pm . I asked if I should take my room key with & she said No we to leave it in the box. So eventually. after looking & searching. the night porter brought out a big bag with lots ofkeys in it. One of the keys fitted my room , all o.k. now. Cutty Saark has been there in the area for a long long time, Landmark. Exspected more I suppose.

Bathrooms in rooms are SHOCKING but you pay for what you get, however considering the location with NO aircon is not acceptable even in the restaurant Bathrooms in foyers are appalling - I have seen better in a public toilet/shopping centre/garage
